My freaky World! - Journeys

Travelling is one of my biggest passions. I've already been to quite a lot of countries, mostly in Europe because it's cheap and easy to travel there if you live in Germany.
Let's see, if I can still get all my yourneys together. Due to lack of time to scan all the old pictures (when digital cameras didn't exist), I can only upload the digital ones and a few old ones.

Nicaragua 2010 (In May it was again time to renew my tourist visa for Costa Rica and again I went to Nicaragua. Thank God this time Cristian came with me because I am actually beginning to hate this country. We went to San Juan del Sur for 3 days to do some surfing. Nicaragua 2010 (To renew my tourist visa for Costa Rica, I had to go abroad for 3 days. I decided to go to Nicaragua because the border is only 2,5 hours by bus away from where I live. I went to the colonial town of Granada. Click here to read my blog post about it.)
Costa Rica 2009-? (In November I went to Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica to work in a luxury hotel. The job was not difficult, but still horrible. However, I met Cristian there, the most wonderful guy in the world. That's why I moved to the north of Costa Rica to spend the rest of my life with him. Panama 2009 (From August to November 2009 I lived and worked in a hotel in Boquete, Panama. But since I didn't really like my life there, I relocated to Costa Rica. If you want to know about this, go to http://binegirlslife.blogspot.com.)
St. Petersburg, Russia 2009 (While I was in Finland, my Finnish friend Päivi and I did a trip to St. Petersburg for 4 days. The city is beautiful and already very western! Click here to get to the blog entry (with pictures) about this trip.)
Finland 2009 (From May to August 2009 I worked in Tervalampi (a little village 40 km north of Helsinki) as an au pair. I took care of two very wild boys (7 and 9) during their holidays. If you want to know more, go to http://binegirlslife.blogspot.com.)
Paris, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, and London 2009 (My American friend Bradley and I travelled though Germany and Paris and London in the beginning of 2009. To learn more, go to http://travellingbine.blogspot.com.)
Croatia 2008 (I again went to the island Pag with my family. But on our way to this island, we made a stop in Zagreb and visited all the important sights. We also made a trip to Sibenik which is a fabulous city. As usual, we enjoyed most of the time at the beach! Click here for the pictures.)
Spain 2008 (I went to Alicante to do a language course there for 4 weeks. Although I found a lot of friends at the language school, I have to say that I didn't like Alicante very much; it's just a big loud city with lots of crime. However, the beach was really nice! Click here for the pictures.)

Gran Canaria / Spain 2007 (I went to Gran Canaria to work at a hotel for 6 weeks. Although I had to work a lot I could ocassionally enjoy the great weather and beautyful nature. Click here for the pictures.)
Czech Republic 2006/07 (My family and a few friends spent a week in the Czech Republic to celebrate the New Year there. We also visited Prague for a day. Click here for the pictures.)
Croatia 2006 (I went with my family again to the island of Pag. This time we visited Split and other smaller towns. The rest of the time we spent at the beach. Click here for the pictures.)
London 2006 (I went on a excursion with my university to London. We also visited Oxford and Stratford upon Avon / Shakespeare's birthplace. Click here for the pictures.)
Spain 2006 (I went to the south of Spain for 3 weeks to do a language course. I stayed in a littel cute village, but also visited places like Sevilla and Cadiz. Click here for the pictures.)
USA 2005 (I've visited my former host parents in North Carolina and we spent a few days in South Carolina. I've been there for 2 weeks. Click here for the pictures.)
England 2005 (I went with my mom and her class to Eastbourne. But we also visited London twice, Hastings, Brighton, Beachy Head and some other places.We've been there for 1 week. Click here for the pictures.)
England 2004 (I went to Exeter to work there. I stayed at a lovely host family. We went to the baech close to Newquay and I learnt how to bodysurf. I've been there for 6 weeks. But the last 4 days of my stay in England I've spent in London, all by myself.)
Croatia 2004 (I went with my mom and her boyfriend to the island Pag. But we also visited Zadar. We've been there for 2 weeks.)
Finland 2004 (I went to the southwest coast of Finland to visit my penpal Jaana. But we also visited Helsinki, Pori and we did a cruise to Sweden. We've been there for 2 weeks.)
Denmark 2003/2004 (I went with my mom, her boyfriend and a few other families to the southeast of Denmark to celebrate New Year's Eve there. We visited Sonderborg and Anbenraa. We've been there for 1 week. Click here for the pictures.)
Croatia 2003 (I went with my mom and her boyfriend to an island called Rab. We stayed 2 weeks and had a relaxing holiday at the beach.)
Switzerland 2003 (My penpal Anika and I went to Switzerland for one week. We stayed at a hotel in a little village at the Vierwaldstätter See and visited towns like Zurich, Lucerne and Bern.)
France 2003 (I went with my class to Strassbourg to visit the European Parliament.)
Czech Republic 2002/2003 (My mom, her boyfriend and I went with a few friends of us to a little German town very close to the Czech border. So, we did 4 one-day trips to the Czech Republic, twice we walked to the Czech Republic and twice we drove.)
Italy 2002 (I went with my mom and her boyfriend on a little tour through Italy. We stayed at the Garda Lake, in Rome and in Rimini. The weather wasn't
too great during the first days, but somehow it was fun to see it raining in summer in Italy. Click here for the pictures.)
USA 2001/2002 (I did an exchange year in the USA, North Carolina. My host parents were great and I did very well in school. I travelled to New York City, Boston, Rhode Island, Florida, South Carolina, and Washington D.C.!)
England 2001 (In spring 2001 I went with my mom and her class to England. Wer stayed in a little town called Herne Bay which is close to Canterbury. But we also visited Hastings, London, and Brighton.)
Tunisia 2000 (I went with my mom and her boyfriend to the town of Sousse. It was a typical beach holiday. But we also went to Tunis, were camel riding,and went to the desert. Click here for the pictures.)
Greece 1999 (My friend from school and I went to Greece and we stayed on the island of Korfu. We were a huge group of teenagers and that's why we went clubbing and drinking a lot. We also spent at a lot of time at the beach. We did visit Korfu City.)
England 1999 (I again went with my mom and her class to England. This time we stayed at host families in Hastings for one week. Of course, we also made trips to London, Bodiam Castle, Brighton, and other places.)
London 1998 (I went with my family to London, but only for a short trip. We visited the usual sights for tourists and enjoyed the warm summer day.)
England 1998 (This was my fisrt trip to England with my mom's class. We stayed at host families in Hastings and visited places like London, Brighton, and Rye. Click here for the pictures.)
The Netherlands 1997 (My family spend Chrsitmas at one of the Center Parks in Holland.)
Sicily / Italy 1997 (This was our last trip to Sicily. We again stayed at the same camping ground and enjoyed the very nice beach.)
Amsterdam 1997 (My family went to Amsterdam for one day to try out our new car.)
Italy 1996 (My family and I went to the Toskana in Italy. The first week we camped close to Pisa and the second week we rented a house with friends together.)
Sicily / Italy 1995 (My family and I again went to Sicily. We really love it!)
The Netherlands 1994 (My family again spent Christmas at the Center Parks in Holland.)
The Netherlands 1994 (My family and I went to the Netherlands in summer. We camped at the Veluve Meer and enjoyed a wonderful summer!)
Sicily / Italy 1993 (And again we spend a few weeks in Sicily. The journey to this island was always horrible: We had to drive through Germany, Austria, the whole of Italy, take the ferry to Sicily and drive through it; that takes 2 days by car when you make a stop and sleep for one night close to Rome. When we took the caravon we couldn't go as fast and that's why sometimes it took us 3 days to get to Sicily.)
Netherlands 1992 (We spent Christmas at Center Parks in Holland. It was really nice because they always have a nice indoor pool. We took a sledge with us because we didn't know that it actually never snows in the Netherlands.)
Sicily / Italy 1992 (That's was the first time we took our dog with us and he absolutely hated water, especially sea water. So, we had to make him swim! *lol*)
Sicily / Italy 1991 (The first time in Sicily. We stayed a camp ground on the most southern tip of Sicily, it wasn't too far away from Ragusa. Sicily has great beaches, the best pizzas, and the friendliest people!)

In 1990 the wall broke down and from then on we could travel freely. Before that we (as East Germans) could only travel to other countries in the east and even that was difficult because you could not exchange as much money into the foreign currency as you wanted. That's why before 1990 my mom only went to Russia to study at university there. But we usually spent our summers at the cold coast of Germany.
